I have it on an eee 1201N netbook (Win7), works well.
I think I've found a couple programing errors:
1) A local EDACS system has two towers. One tower has an agency dispatch TG. Individual carriers (mobiles) are broadcasted as "private" or Uniden I-Call setting. When dispatch broadcast the TG works as normal. When the mobiles click on the TG psr-800 stops on the CC. The system goes out of the trunk scanning mode and stays on the CC. Wildcard is set on both sites and just the one site programed. I've not had this issue with Uniden models. I programed the scanner with just the tower with the problem and the issue remained.
2) A local carrier has a regular LTR and several PassPort sites. Import from RR listed both the types of systems. The standard LTR as the LTR. The other three (PassPort) sites as LTR. Anyway I keep logging TGs that are not on the regular LTR that are verified with different scanners at the same time.
For example:
1-01-101
1-01-102
Are regular LTR TGs.
The following TGs are key-ups and a bit of static with no voice(as if monitoring PassPort in conv mode with out the voice):
0-01-211
04-077
0-01-147
04-077
Any ideas?
Maybe the scanner uses the 1/1/1970-based time system and, with that 2045 date on the screen, is having an epoch fail. Year 2038 problem - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Did you try using the Private Call Wildcard accessible in the trunked tab for the system and see if that works.
Yes, double checked it. Wildcard set in TG and Radio ID's. Still getting bounced-out on the mobile wildcards.
Only regular LTR systems are supported on the current trunking scanners, so if you are seeing odd TGID's this could be an unsupported type unless your saying they are regular LTR systems only.
I locked out the regular LTR site. The PassPort sites are listed under the standard LTR setting. Either some of the freqs are on a regular LTR and listed under the PassPort sites. Either way there is no voice. Only static burst. Wildcard listing.

Does anyone know why if you drop the radio accidentally hard enough in scan mode, it acts as a fuse and the screen read something like "low battery, auto shutoff", it happened to me today . I had to re-power the the radio. I made a thick leather case so good thing the radio casing did not crack. Not to get off topic but someone said if you drop the PSR 500, the battery cover pops off as a breakaway and the battery holder pops out, strange.

- is the update of the memory car easy from RR ?
I have not owned a scanner in YEARS and I want to pick the right one this one looks like a good choice. (My last scanner was a pro 2026) I was going to buy a BCD396XT but this one has got my attention. The no keypad issue is a thought of concern but I will be programming from a PC most of the time.
I have some questions about the PSR800.
- will it search for NAC,CTCSS,DPL tones ?
- can you set a preset search for lets say the Ham band and federal VHF band and decode NAC's and Pl tones ?
