I apologize...totally ignorant to the fact it says in the manual to make sure "Simple Display" is unchecked for the RadioIDs to display. They are now showing up perfectly.

That's good news.

Norton tells me that EZSCANCD.EXE is a virus

Anybody tried to install the CD and had Norton prevent it? I inserted the CD, and Norton complained and blocked it.

Specifically, Norton said "The file risk is high".

Yes, I had a warning also, but I used the exe from the support site with no problems.

Thanks. I'd also used the program from the site without any warning last week. I only needed the driver, but either the downloaded program installed the driver I needed, or I already had it installed. So the CD will get put on the shelf... just in case...

If I can get a video that isn't completely crappy from my old digital camera I'll try to post one. I'm sure many folks on here monitor much larger simulcast systems than the digital 500 mhz. simulcast system in my county which is just 3 sites (one site that is approx. 1 mile from me, and the other two are about 6 miles away), but I can 100% say that the audio copy on the simulcast system is improved on the PSR-800 versus the 500. The audio on the 500 would flicker from time to time and RadioID decode was about 65-70% usually. On the 800, the audio seems perfect all the time, and RadioID decode is probably 95% or more.

Seriously, how does the radio ID work on the trunking systems tab? Am I wrong or can you alias the IDs so the names show instead of the numbers?

Yes...works for me...in the Radio ID Details section you just put in the RID number of the Radio ID in particular you want to see get an Alpha Tag for, i.e. RID 64081. I put in the Alpha Tag "Ambulance 4081" for it, and when 64081 transmits on the trunk system I put that RID entry in for, the Alpha Tag "Ambulance 4081" shows up, and it toggles back and forth between the Alpha Tag and the actual Radio ID, which I like a lot since in some cases I just put a generic Radio ID tag (i.e. "Florence PD Car") for departments that I don't know the actual unit number transmitting on each Radio ID.

If I'm paused on an object --- either because the radio stopped on that object while scanning and I hit >||Sel, or I Browsed Objects to it, and hit >||Sel --- how do I get to the next or previous object in the scanlist?

That seems like about the most basic possible thing a radio can do, but I'm stumped. Up and Down are volume, and Right and Left are Resume (if scanning) or scanlist scroll (if browsing).

As it's set up you can't. You have to press the Menu key, arrow to browse to object, arrow left or right to select the scanlist, then up or down to the object, then play/pause to pause on the object and monitor.

OK, we know what the front of the radio looks like, but not the back with the belt clip. How come no one has posted pics of the radio as it comes out of the box. When the Home Patrol 1 came out, everyone posted pics. What's up GRE owners:confused: There are those of use who wish to view the radio.

How many times you going to ask for a video?

Until someone posts one...

If you read back over the pages of this thread you'll see that video has already been posted here....

I am looking for a video of the scanner actually picking up traffic, not that video. Thanks though.

Not if everyone else, like you, didnt read the whole thread...

I'm starting to think you're just a grumpy old man, Highpockets.

Believe me, you reputation is growing, you mentioned in another thread you don't read the whole thread, you don't and your posts show it.

Don't push your luck on the last comment you made.
