Believe me, youR reputation is growing, you mentioned in another thread you don't read the whole thread, you don't and your posts show it.

Don't push your luck on the last comment you made.

I think ya need to lean back in your computer chair, relax a little bit, pick out your wedgie, and just take a chill pill.

Lifes not fun if you're an uptight grump. Why so serious and angry all the time? That's a rhetorical question, by the way, no answer required cuz frankly I don't care... I'm interested in scanning not you. Hiding behind a computer screen b****ing at everything just isn't for me.. not sure about you guys.

Now back to the topic at hand :: If anyone has a Psr800, how do ya like it. Would anyone consiter posting a vid of it ACTIVLY SCANNING so we can see the audio quality? Although the vid posted above from the GRE booth is informational, it doesn't show this beauty in action.

Is the performance on simulcast systems really significantly better than that of the 106/500 models?

What about ease of use? And where did you decide to order you 800 from? What did you pay for it?

Give the guy a break Steve. He is trying to get his post count up because we all know that is how members get respect and recognition around here.

Nah not about the post count, I'd actually just like to see a video and hear some reviews so I can see if it's worth the price tag.

Take away the counters for all I care, just give me my video!!!!!

Thanks tho, Dan.

OK, we know what the front of the radio looks like, but not the back with the belt clip. How come no one has posted pics of the radio as it comes out of the box. When the Home Patrol 1 came out, everyone posted pics. What's up GRE owners:confused: There are those of use who wish to view the radio.
Larry

Here is a few Larry. The strange time on the display was before setting the clock. I believe it was initially set to Aztec time

Dave,

Not sure if it was you, but, someone posted a link to the FCC when that scanner was aproved, and I thought there was pictures of the unit showing all angles. I can't find the link now.

The lazy method is to get someone else to do all of the research for thy. :p
Reading all post in this thread and the pre 800 thread would've answered your question.

I've read the reviews, but I'm the type of guy that actually likes to see (if not in person, atleast on a video) the unit in action and hear how it sounds before I decide to buy. Thanks to all those who added comments and reviews on the new model, as they were helpful, but some people like to see it working before a 500$ purchase.

And thanks for the pictures, Dave. It looks like a slick unit!

The reason I asked for pictures, and thanks Dave, is I wanted to see the beltclip. Looking at the back of the radio on the FCC site, it appeared to be the same junk clip as the rest of the GRE handhelds. When I read swivel, my eyes lit up and thought maybe like the 396, or my Yaesu's.

I expect to get my 800 tonight and will rent a camera (HD? They're free) from my college and open it from the packaging live and compare it to my Pro-106. Despite this rude thread, yes, I'll do it! I'd suggest people stop complaining before the thread closes and I have to open a new one for the video. Hang tight and I'll try to make a video tonight or tomorrow.

I'm glad you asked Larry, I wanted to see the belt clip myself after you mentioned it. I stopped using them, I've broken to many. :)

Gre psr-800

Will this scanner pick up Local RCMP in Saskatchewan, Canada? I use to pick them up with my Uniden Bearcat but can`t anymore! I believe they`ve got a new system set in place by Saskpower. They set up the system in local towers around each community. I don`t know what kind of system it is, but my Uniden Bearcat no longer does the job. So it would be nice if there was a scanner out there that would do the job, if not the GRE-PSR-800, then maybe another perhaps?

Has anyone gotten priority trunking to interrupt talkgroups? On the 500 with the NJ State Police Type II analog system, priority talkgroups would interrupt a non-priority talkgroup during transmission when a priority TG became active. On the 800 it only seems to check the priority TGs after the non-priority TG transmission is finished (as is the case on P-25 systems). I have "Priority Interrupts Talkgroups" checked in the software.

Also, if anyone is looking for a way to power the radio without having to hook the USB cable up to the computer, I found an old USB power adapter for a cell phone (I think it was for my old Motorola RAZR) that works fine running the radio. Good way to save a few bucks if you have an old adapter lying around.
