One very small thing Wayne got wrong... the firmware update isn't from the microSD Card. It's a direct load via the included PC sofware, but with the same "hold down a key while turning the scanner on" step as the PSR-500, PSR-300, PRO-107, etc. (As I think I mentioned above, one of the uses of the COM port presented by the scanner's internal USB interface is firmware updates.)

Oh... and of course the scanner didn't ask for any trunked system types in that library import - Wayne only imported a few conventional subcategories :)

Now, looking at that pre-production unit, I might have to revise what I (may have) said above. It looks like production units might have white LEDs in the keypad backlighting. (I've only seen amber).

Nice video - thanks for posting... Price mentioned in there too is right where I'd expect.

So all the $399 dollar guys guesses better sell something old to0 get up to $499.00, seems very easy to load and use without the software....

looks like ill be buying a kenwood nx 200 for a scanner tired of waiting

I think you need to research a little bit more... The NX200 isn't a full-fledged scanner. It's only two months until the 700 is out, you will probably be better off waiting for this.

On Price...

Remember, folks, the retail price of the Home Patrol is $599, with a street price of around $499.
The PSR-500 has a retail price of $499, with a street price of $399, and lower now with sales as it's further into its lifecycle.

The EZ Scan will probably have a street price of around $399, or not much more than that.

Just sayin'.

BTW, I wonder how an RS version would look? Will it be ruined by a two-tone case?

Any Signal Sweeper on the PSR-800?

PSR-800 Looks nice any idea if it has the Search Sweeper, that's my fav feature on the 500.

Thanks Mike

[*]Some display elements configurable: TGID number and RadioID (trunking and P25 conv), site name, VC/CC freqs
[/LIST]

Does this mean the radio will decode radio ID's on convnetional P25?

Also, any improvement in P25 simulcast issues?

I thought i read on the "ENC" department you have three choices, hear the ENC noise, hear a "busy" type signal, and upon hearing ENC its like the Uniden=just moves on....
