What buttons do you press to get things started for recording,read the manual but can't seem to find the settings,the record feature is set to enabled.

You don't need to press anything. It records on it's own on objects you have set to record. It will also record in search mode if you have it enabled. Check your objects and make sure you have the Rec box checked on each one you want to record.

I am using EZ Scan program so if I set record for example on Fire Dispatch it will record all the time as long as it is set to record?Is that correct?

Yes it is. My wife and I have had ours for about a month now, and we still haven't mastered all of its functions. Not that we're complaining. There's just a lot to this radio and we're learning more about it every day. We wouldn't trade it for the world. (Well, I wanted to trade it for a Uniden 396XT but she wouldn't let me; she had grown too attached to it LOL).
