Anyone heard of that place? Ordered from them?
Lectron is the wholesale distributor and authorized repair centre for Uniden in Canada for more than 12 years . They do warranty and also non-warranty repairs for many other brands of electronics too. They are now the distributor for GRE in Canada ?... I did a search in the Eastern Canadian Radio Discussion Forums and found this info there. Maybe we should be asking these questions in that forum and get some answers before ordering anything from Lectron/Grace Audio Digital Can.

thanks for starting the threads mobile1.

You are very welcome saveyaris ! Are you going to make a purchase from grace/lectron ? I am thinking that a PSR600 from them, is in my future . I think that the administrator of this forum should contact grace/lectron about advertising/sponsorship in the Canadian Forums . We could send alot of business their way if more users of these forums knew about them!

It's really easy, if you use software, if you do it manually from the keyboard, it's a bit more difficult.

Off topic but to answer your question Durham should have the 396Xt in soon.

I checked out Durham and the BCD396XT .$200.00, Plus GST ,Plus S/H more than a PSR500. Is it that much more of a scanner ? Is it worth the almost 50% extra $ ? I guess time will tell if it is or not .

Good point it may not be worth the extra $200 for most people.
However some love Unidens and will pay the extra cash, and the re-sale value is always higher.

Speaking from experience the GRE/RS do NOT hold their value at all in Canada (in my opinion).

The average scanner user (who may not be into the forums) doesnt even know what the GRE's are, even when you tell them GRE made the Pro-96 etc. Recently I had both a 500 and Pro-106 for sale and couldnt sell them. Guys kept asking if I had any Uniden 396's.

Even now a Uniden 396T (that was bought on RR for $385cdn) sold for $522CDN.. and it has a blown charging circuit, no ac adapter no box no manual etc.

Thats more then I wanted for an almost brand new Pro-106 in box with no problems. But couldnt sell it.
I almost had to beg people to even consider buying the Pro-106 for cash (in the end decided to hang on as the cash offers were ridiculous).

My PSC500C was at the post office this AM . Programed it for the local P25 system in PM . It is working great for me . Very happy with it . A friend asked me about scanning today. Will be selling the old Pro96 I think.

so, mobile1, you have the 500 and the 600?

Yes . I could not get a 500 as they were out of stock until April, so went with a 600 back in January of this year . I thought about getting the BCD396XT but went for the GRE because of cost and I know they work well on the local P25 system. I do not know how well the Unidens work trunking the Sask. P25 system.
