I guess it is time to add to the collection-

Just wanted to follow up on the GRE PSR-500/600- they have been working ok with the ESK (Denver PD/FD/EMS) as well as Lakewood- PD/Westmetro?

It sounds like they are using "Analog" most of the time with the exception of some NARC and undercover stuff? Is this going to continue for a while or will Provoice be in the near future?

Anything I should know before I make the investment? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Sorry Greg, Can't believe no one has replied yet, yes I have personally had good success with both the PSR-500 and 600 on both the Denver and Lakewood/WheatRidge/West Metro ESK systems and actually the Denver feed currently available online is a PSR and sounds great I think.

At least 95% of the radios in use are capable of ProVoice with a Flash, but it probably won't happen for 2 reasons--ProVoice doesn't seem to play well with simulcast as it is set up here, and the firemen would come to hate it

I've had good luck with the PSR-500. The Uniden BCD396T is working nicely as well with the ESK beta code which I imagine will be available in the not too distant future.

No plans for Provoice in the near future. You might see a few more talk groups that have it, but most everything will stay in the clear.

Testing the new beta release on the BCD396T and it's working nicely for ESK.

Thanks everyone for the updates-

I have been using my MPA for Denver and Lakewood and getting ready to replace it with the GRE.

Glad to hear the they are working good and Pro-voice is maybe a ways off so the investment makes a little more sense.

Is the Audio on the PSR-500 equal or superior to the Pro-96?

also assuming the programing with WIN500 is very straight forward and not to much more complicated than win96?

Very similar to Win96 yes and I have a few Win500 files for the metro area esk systems if that would help when you purchase the radio.
