In my GRE 600 & Pro 197's I enabled the "show trunking chan w/vc" & "Show CC info in TGRP display" along with the radio ID's through Win500. Now in the bottom line of the display, it will either show the radio ID OR under where the "TSYS" is it will show a 6 digit number such as 00248, 00328, 00625, etc. I searched 7 different TSYS within New Jersey and it is occuring on each. The same series of numbers keep rotating within each system usually about 6-8 sets. I guessing this is a tower id for which tower is handling the initial call? In the Indiana forum they are discussing "site aliases" but they have tower locations (towns)to go with their ID's. Here in NJ I'm only getting these 00xxx numbers. One small local department did show up as 09000 as it's one and only id. Perhaps Indiana SAFE-T decodes differently? Is there a way to further ID these numbers?

numbers

They are the Motorola channel numbers - the one displayed while a transmission is being received is the Motorola channel number for the current voice frequency.

yes way cool

I often did wonder what those numbers were.
I realized this after fumbling with the trunker program. The scanner numbers match the trunker numbers. Kinda that feeling of seeing stadium lights turn on. CLICK. TADA. Felt smart for one moment in time. Then I realized wow this is way bigger now. More questions then answers.

OK, I'm still feeling dense on this one. How does the Motorola channel number relate to the frequency or control channel in use? Or is this just interesting but useless information? On the NJ board someone posted a breakdown of base, offset & spacing, to arrive at these numbers, but I still don't grasp it yet.

Question 2- When you go into "analize" mode for the TSYS other than the connect tone what does the rest of the bottom line info mean?

In short, Motorola uses channel numbers to coincide with frequencies. Check out this link in the Wiki for more.

In reference to your second question:

"Ch02" means I have that frequency in slot two of the frequency list in the scanner (you won't see this unless you have it turned on)

99% is your decode rate, or how well the scanner is receiving the control channel.

SID is the Motorola system ID.

S12 means it's Motorola site number 12 (in that system or "zone")

CT, as you know, is the Connect tone.

"LAWBRG" is the site alias for that site.

Hope this helps :)

Fortunately, GA
Not to hijack this thread, but, what is the Nxxx that shows when analyzing the CC on the 106/500? I don't remember hearing anything discussed about this on RR.
TIA,
Larry

SWEET !! As I thought SAFE-T decodes differently than New Jersey trunked systems, we only get numbers or Troop designators not actual sites. This will be nice when I get to Rush County !!!
