Great reception in Norcal tonight

I'm getting some awesome coverage tonight in the Sacramento area. Hearing Marin Co's TRS very loud, as well as Caltrans D4 system full scale which I've never even been able to hear a peep from here. Just checked San Mateo's TRS thinking I didn't have a chance and that's coming in full scale as well.

ANyone else having this much luck?

Equipment is Uniden BCD996T with Discone about 30 feet up, 50 foot RG-8 coax.

I'm jealous. I've been busy moving to a new apartment, and haven't had a chance to fire up the scanners much. Can you hear Fresno at all? That's cool that the south and north Bay are coming in so good.

yeah, i noticed i can use my 440 mhz handheld on the crapper... never been able to do that before. heh.

Don't have anything from Fresno Co in the radio...yet. I used to hear Fresno S/O from my old home in Martinez frequently. Haven't tried it here though.

Probably due to an inversion layer over the Valley, keeps the signals from escaping upward. Norm.
