The Great River Energy TRS entry in the database here has been changed. It was previously entered as a LTR system when in fact it is a wide area Motorola Type II system.

We would appreciate monitors in MN and the surrounding states to give a listen and see if we can start getting some good information about this system.

Thanks in advance.

I would guess it depends on where you are. I have logged some TG's but just have no idea who they were. I havn't listened to it in a while, but it is still active. :?

I've just started scanning this system here in the St Cloud Area. I've log five or six tlk groups on the system. Two of the talk groups have definate and specific references though i couldn't tell you who's using them.

One talk group has people calling Rockville and another has techs calling Elk River. I made one update to the database w/ the CC for one of the Rockville systems. I had thought about including the talk groups that i had logged even if it's just to promote some interest into the system but when i've tried that with an LTR system that i submitted to the database they weren't included in the info that was posted. If anyone would find the info useful i'd be happy to get it and post it.

 On a semi-related note, why is it that some systems will include unknown talkgroups on a system but when i've tried submitting unknowns with the hope that others would ID them, thay haven't been included in the database? Any thoughts?

Hmmm, if you submitted an ID'd TG for a LTR system that is here in the DB and it was not updated, PM me with the specifics and I will look into it.

As to your related question; unknown ID's used to be accepted, but have not been accepted since Lindsay started working on converting from TrunkedRadio.net to RadioReference.com over 18 months ago. The reason is simple, actual UNKID's serve no purpose except to take up space. Depending on how much is known on a system is how much the ID needs to be identified. A system with low usage and very few (or no) known ID's will accept something with a minimal explanation for an ID. Like for example, if you can ID a TG on Great River as say line maintenance or meter checking or something along those lines, submit it, we will put it in. Just don't submit something as "xxxxx unknown" becuase we will ignore it. Also, those unknowns that are still in the DB will be removed as we come across them.

I heard some talk groups this week three or four talk groups talking to elk river setting switches. But I'm have a had finding out the the UHF offsets and steps and base. so my Pro-97 will go to 459.2125 and i hear static the correct freq is supposed to be 462.11250 and manually go there and the talk groups show up.

I getting the the CC on 462.7175 in Wilmar on the willmar NODE in the the list. I get a decode rate of 99%.

PS. anyone around the willmar area want to exchange frequencies let me know.

I tried the offset from the web page it won't work.

TGID's

Here are some of the talk groups that i've logged. They have all been logged off of the 451.0625 control channel which belongs to the "Rockford 1" system. I haven't tried them all but it is the only Control Channel that i have yet found in the St Cloud Area. The funny thing is that i got the control channel as a CloseCall hit on my PRO-83 and then decided to plug it into my PRO-92. Anyway, here they are.

00208 Elk River
00592 Rockford
01008
00944
02896
