Hey ..wow your not Kidding its been active for a couple of weeks ..34.700 military and all sorts of stuff..the scanner is hooked up to a CB bigstick antenna and my auto program was full under a minute..lol

when the forcast calls for humid weather coming up from the deep south i always try to search the low bands for skip , lots of stuff !!! i am amazed how strong the signal can be at times

Its all alive and well today as well s/w Ontario Canada ..Low vhf 31.100, unknown still and 34.700 still sounds like USA Military Aircraft....Still sounds like their doing target practice on ground targets using guns and counting dispenced rounds.....

if you live in ontario canada, and you want to know how good the skip is, turn on the weather brodcast on your scanner, and scan the channels and see how many us (NOAA) weather feeds come in, and how strong of signal they have.

Sounds like Maryland State Police to me, were you able to snag a PL/CTCSS tone?

If it's in the 39 MHz band and the tone is 110.9, its most likely Maryland State Police.

I can hear MSP-1 (39.1000 PL110.9) when the band is open down here in Richmond quite often.

The DX is up and running again today, found Selfrige military on the freq 34.700 giving aircraft clearance to take off and land....I'm assuming this is in Michigan. anyone Know for sure ??

for me to hear Baltimore F/R Disp 154.415 down here in stafford county in va is pretty far and cool...and hearing 33.82...it wasnt culpeper va or calvert md i couldnt pin point but great skipping in general..from the sun burst maybe

Great Skip Tonight

Randy,

One of the reasons we hear the Missouri State Highway Patrol so well all over the country is that they are licensed for 15 KW ERP on 9 of their channels. The 42.58 in Rolla, for Troop I, is running a 1500 W final amplifier into a 4-Bay low-band antenna. A couple of their channels are running 2 KW final amps into the four-bay antennae. Much more output than the average bear!
