Hello,

I'm having a problem hearing Greenacres FD. I can hear dispatch, but no one ever says "enroute" or "arrival". I'm listening on 859.7625/814.7625. I've also tried listening to PBCFR's TGs (e.g. 34192-34544) and I don't hear anybody from Greenacres. I can hear others (I heard Station 16 talking to dispatch, so I know it's not the scanner). I can also hear Greenacres PD. Is there another new talkgroup or a new frequency or something I'm missing?

Greenacres just keeps changing everything on me.

Thank You!

I already have those.

Yes, I have ALL of those frequencies plugged into both of my scanners (the ones that can do 800's).

It is very frustrating to hear dispatch (I just heard of a Vehicle vs HOUSE) and not know what's going on or how everybody's doing.

Does anybody have any new freqs or TGs?

Thank You!

Andrew

According to the "South Florida Frequency and Trunking Guide", Greenacres fire is dispatched on 154.175, PL tone 103.5. The book also shows 856.2625 and 859.7625. It goes on to say that there's talkgroups for them on the Palm Beach County trunked system, but they're not in use yet.

Maintainence

That frequency is actually used by the city public works department, even though it is registered as public safety (e.g. I once heard "pick up the sign on your way back", and after the hurricanes, "there's a tree down at...").

856.2625 - old PD frequency, now talkaround (main is on TRS)
859.7625 - I hear FD dispatch here, but no "Medic-9 Greenacres, 1 patient B Bravo"

What are the talkgroup numbers? I'll punch them in and see if I hear anything on them.

Thank You!

This is what's listed:
52592
52624
52656
52688
52720
52752
52784

It doesn't say what each one is supposed to be used for, only that they're set aside for Greenacres.

Greenacres Dept of Public Safety on County TRS

I've confirmed these this a.m. --
The GADPS Police Ops are on the first County TRS talkgroup 52592, and
The GADPS Fire Ops are on the next TRS talkgroup 52624.
I haven't heard anything yet on the other 5 TRS tg's reserved for the City.
Fire Paging Tones and the dispatcher's paging announcement are still heard simultaneously on 154.175 and TRS tg 52624, but the two-way traffic between units and dispatcher is only heard on tg 52624.

The earlier post with the cite from Brian's book hit the nail on the head. You folks in SE FL that haven't acquired Brian's book "SE Florida Freq & Trunking Guide" should get a copy...very well done and a bargain for the money. See more at this link:

There was a posting some months ago on the SEFLORIDA group on Yahoo that GA was discussing an arrangement with PBC Fire-Rescue for PBCFR to handle all dispatching for GADPS' Fire Ops. If that occurs, I would expect that the GA stations would be given new station numbers on the County TRS and they would then appear on County FR talkgroups, like the Lake Worth FD operations. That hasn't happened yet might may still someday.

The city was experiencing problems with their conventional 800 channels a while back in that they weren't getting enough coverage for their sprawling boundaries...remember that in addition to the GA corporate limits, GA contracts with the City of Atlantis to provide Atlantis with F-R services. The unions were putting a lot of pressure on the City to resolve the radio coverage issues. Apparently Mark [KS4VT] and the rest of the gang at the County TRS have provided GA with a "countywide" solutiion.

GA Fire Ops back on conv 800 today...

I noticed today that the GA DPS Fire Ops is back on their conventional channel 859.7625. They are using it for FTO paging and two-way comm's.

No activity heard yet today on the PBC TRS tg 52624 that they were using earlier in the week for Fire Ops.

PD Ops is still on the PBC TRS tg 52592.
=============================
UPDATE: 11:40 a.m.
I just heard the Fire dispatcher advise the field units that they were getting ready to switch back to the "new" system as they were just about done with some system testing. So I guess this back-and-forth is still part of their transition. They should be back on the TRS shortly.
