I’m slightly new to scanning. I bought a Pro-51 several years ago and listened in on a few things back in Greensboro. Recently, I’ve moved to Greenville and bought a used Pro-92 so I could listen to some of the trunked communications. I went through the radioreference database and programmed in the Pitt County trunk and it works pretty well.

I would like to monitor East Carolina University’s PD, but I don’t think the Pitt County trunk (even though it has a listing as “police” is still right) has ECU’s PD listed. So, how do I find it? I read one post that mentioned ECU was going to VIPER. Looking at the VIPER talkgroups on radioreference, and it says the Pitt Country talkgroups are digital. Do you think the ECU is digital too? If not, how can I find out what frequencys/talkgroup ECU PD is on?

Thank you

ECU can still be monitored on 460.425. Some VIPER radios have been bought, but I am not sure when they will go live. The only thing that you will hear on Pitt TG's are Pitt Sheriff and Highway Patrol. Pitt Sheriff can still be heard on 158.850 as they simulcast thier VHF and Viper. Greenville PD is active on 453.300, 453.600 and 453.900.....City fire on 453.050.

Hope this helps.

blueline_308, thank you so much. I just added them into my scanner.

Would you also have any other ECU related frequencies? Like, transit?
