For the past week i have been hearing static on greenwoods 453.1000 police freq....... so i put it on p25 and picked up the same static...... i haven't tried trunking that freq to see if it picks up anything..... thats next the reason i know its digital is last week there was a lot of white noise sounding static on 453.100 and dispatch called a unit and he replied with the same noise as ive been hearing and dispatch said your extremely 10-1 your coming in digital she said then right after that the unit called back in and you could hear him ive been thinking of LTR or EDACS and or MOT UHF/VHF they have these new H.E.A.T units in town im wondering if its them if anyone can help me out id appreciate it

i have no clues other then trying trunking in pro-197

Hmmm... the HEAT units in Aiken were used in the city of Aiken and they mostly stayed on the 460 MHz channels as opposed to the 453.650 MHz that is the regular city police channel. Are the HEAT units in Greenwood used in the same way? If so, key in the police frequencies for the city which are 453.625 and 460.475 MHZ. I can pick them up (Greenwood) sometimes when the weather is right, but that is rare. I'm sure you already have those frequencies keyed in, so I don't know.
You could do a search of the 453.xxx freqs and the 460.xxx freqs to see if they are using an itinerant channel. I've had success doing that before.
Happy scanning!

ETA: How new are they? They could be using a narrow band frequency that hasn't been published yet - do the search.

Barry, what are the frequencies in Aiken? I live right outside of North Augusta and their HEAT cars just use the NA 800 channels.

The frequency they used mostly was 460.525. To be honest, I haven't seen any HEAT vehicles in a while nor have I heard them and I travel to Aiken quite regularly. The HEAT vehicles in Aiken, the ones I have heard, didn't seem to have 800 capabilities because more than once I heard another car relay info to a county car. Those Chargers looked mean, though and I liked the coloration.
