Im brand new to the forum and just got done looking through the rules of posting and etiquette. I'm from NJ and a volunteer firefighter/EMT-B. I just bought a Uniden HomePatrol-1 and Im looking forward to learning from you all!

Thanks for the greetings. My main interest in scanners is because I have a summer beach home that is out of range of my fire pager. Being a volunteer, I don't need to respond to every call when I'm at that house, but I want to be available to respond if something big happens.

I just got a Uniden Home Patrol and I like it a lot. I'm about to do a search on Antennas to see which one is the best!
