Anybody want to take a listen to my feed and see if that growling sound is familiar? I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. The radio is a Kenwood TM281 with audio from the external speaker jack to the line in jack on a windows XP machine that's doing nothing else. As far as I can tell, it's not coming through the speaker. ( I use a speaker connected to the same PC to listen in live from time to time.) I thought it was the scan circuit bleeding in at first, but it does it even when it's not scanning.

I've heard a lot of feeds with this issue and I think it's caused by two things:

1) Using unshielded 1/8th cables
2) Integrated, poor quality, line in inputs on motherboards

I'd try a shielded cable first to see if that fixes the issue.

I will grab a shielded cable next time I'm out. The line in is on a Soundblaster card.
