Same as the Eton E5. I picked one up a Rat Shack... Looks like a neat little radio for the price so far. Haven't had a chance to test it too much yet. I know there's a couple people out there that didn't like it, but most seem to think it's good. Gotta watch those Rat Shack people... First they tell me it's in stock, then when I say I'll take one, the guy nonchalantly starts putting the one from the shelf in a box and brings it up to the counter... I say that I don't want a demo, if that's what he's planing. He says "give me a minute", like he wants me to walk away... I'm thinking, what is this guy up to? Out of the corner of my eye I see him put the radio in the box and mumble something about seeing if a new one is in the back. While he's gone, the other guy tells me there aren't any in the box left. I actually think the first guy was going to take the shelf one in the back, fix it up, and bring it back out as if he found a new one... Can't trust anybody anymore. I think they're use to dealing with old people that they can run scams on. I went and got one at another store.

I would prefer Sony, but finding them now is almost impossible. Even Amazon says 1-2 months. That's a real loss to the SW community I think. It's too bad Sony feels that SW isn't worth supporting.

Ive got the G5 and overall i like it except the thing i really didnt pay any attion to while i was buying one is the SSB operation, I has it, but not USB, LSB which really makes it hard to listen to other stuff, and the only other thing is its to small, Im 18 no one would ever think of a young'n saaying somethings to small but its is, when i get tired all the small controls make me irritable and i dont want to mess with it anymore, unlike the the bigger ones like the GrundigS350 or the IcomR75 those things make me want to be near them all the time.

But overall i like the G5, good radio

Well that didn't take long... Auto scan refuses to work on FM. It will maybe stop on two stations in the whole band, even though there are dozens that come in. The scan mode will not change by the way the manual says it should... Holding down the appropriate button does nothing. Reception seemed to be OK for a few minutes, than everything went away. Tried doing three resets, but still the same problems. Maybe I just have bad luck and got a screwed up one, but I'm not impressed. It's a shame because it otherwise seems like a nice radio... If it actually worked. If you're thinking about getting one, I wouldn't let this stop you from trying. If you can get a good one, it would probably be OK. RS takes stuff back easily, so no loss. I guess them trying to scam me with a demo was an omen.

Thanks to somebody on the Eton 5 list... It turns out you have to turn the radio off to change the scan mode. That also fixed the FM scan problem, because it was in the wrong mode. Normally I would be calling myself an idiot at this point, but since I've never heard of turning a device off to change something, and it's nowhere in the manual... I'll refrain.
