Does anyone know if the old MOTO Type II Smartnet system is still operating ?

YES, its still on the air but they cut out one tower so now here in Joliet i hear it but only two bars instead of five....They rebroadcast the FD and PWs on it.....

Their sheriff still seemed active on it when I passed through on Saturday
Question for the group since Joliet was mentioned, Joliet FD is on the StarCom system. Can a scanner monitor them? I have a WHISTLER TRX-2 and was able to import the frequencies but I haven't heard anything yet so I Dunno if I'm to far(Chicago) or I'm just not able to hear them at all.
Unfortunately Joliet PD, FD & DPW (OUCH!) as well as anything else on the system ID'ed as mode "DE" or "TE" are fully encrypted and cannot be listened to with any receiver not intended for affiliate operation on the system. Welcome to the RR forums

The above posting is correct, they still maintain 154.355 PL 156.7 in case Starcom goes down ,there on Starcom tower 1-13.....
Does anyone know if Grundy County FD are on Trunked or VHF frequencies? Thank you.
There on both, on Starcom tower 1-13 TG2426-tone out , 2427-North , VHF 154.055-toneout, 151.37 north fire.....
