GSP 28 is no longer in Canton, they are in a relatively new facility in Jasper one county up and identify base as 'Jasper', however that frequency pair should be good for Pickens and Cherokee though

Thanks. I was just going by what's on their license:

"ATTN GTA DPS CANTON POST #28"

It's also showing the transmitter location at:

1.5 MI S OF HWY 140 10 MI NE
CANTON, GA CHEROKEE County

Is that still accurate with the post being in Jasper?

The new post in Jasper doesn't have a freestanding antenna...I believe the old transmitter is still near the old post (which may just be a drivers license station now) next to the Georgia Power building

The Database for Georgia State Patrol shows both the Cartersville and Cedartown posts with 154.6875. Is this right? The FCC license for KIB603 is Cedartown, 154.6875. Did I miss something for Cartersville Post?

FYI... heard P25 traffic, this morning, on 158.895mhz/NAC 370. I have this frequency listed as "GSP Interop 1" in my radios. Not sure if this is a GSP repeater but it sounded really strong on my handheld with a rubber duck antenna. Didn't get much traffic on it except for a mention of "probate court". GSP Grovetown still dispatching on 154.905mhz this morning that's why I'm not sure if it's GSP or not.

Hearing lots of GSP traffic on 155.4675mhz/NAC 125. Definitely a repeater as I'm hearing mobiles and dispatch. The trooper made reference as to number of citations issued and "McDuffie".

Have an update for ya'll. Post 37 is using the state bands until their new digital goes on line. Talked to a GSP Trooper at the hospital tonight, and he was telling me about the problems they've been having on the old VHF frequencies. They do have 800MHz radios in the cars to talk to who ever.

Regarding Post 28 (Jasper, formally Canton). The only transmitter that they had at the old post next to the GA Power building was an old low band (42.02 MHz) which was decommissioned years ago. The VHF transmitters are located atop Pine Log Mountain (outside of Waleska, GA).

Well, now that you posted, you should be able to see it! If you can't, scroll down to the bottom of the forum and go to box that allows you to go back to earlier posts. Click on two months ago and scroll down again.

Has anyone been hearing talk on 151.0700, NAC 212? It is listed as GSP P25 statewide and is super loud and clear from Valdosta all the way to Stockton...yet I am not sure it is even GSP.

Just curious, but has anyone had the opportunity to check out what type mobile radio GSP has in their vehicles? I know they are probably carrying and APX6000, just want to know if they are using the APX1500 or 4500?

The few I've seen had XTL2500 VHF mobiles with remote heads. Troopers were carrying mostly XTS2500 700/800 portables.
