I had a person in a radio Facebook group I'm in tell me that GSP would be going encrypted in the next few months. Anyone else heard or can verify that? Thanks.

You mean going "more" encrypted? They are already encrypted in a lot of places. They are (mostly) encrypted on the Atlanta system, and entirely encrypted on the Gwinnett and Hall County systems. Others would know better regarding their level of encryption on the trunked systems they use elsewhere.

If you mean adding encryption to their own proprietary VHF channels outside the metro, that does seem logical too.

Yes, I knew they were encrypted when they shared trunking systems. I meant on their VHF repeater systems.

Seems as if some of you -want- encryption. Stop talking about it, sheesh. There was already a radio tech involved with the system on here, advising he was going to enc. some of the stuff that was being discussed freely here (rioting areas) Don't want to keep poking the bear!

With what is going on around the states I can see why and the need for encryption for Police/Sheriff/Federal/EMS/Fire agencies around why some agencies are making the switch from non encrypted communications to encryption communications.
