GSP on Cobb DTRS

This morning (3/13) I heard a Cobb STEP unit involved in a short pursuit up 75N when you heard "GSP### to Cobb, responding from I-75 and Delk". Soooo, it looks like GSP has the Cobb systems programmed into their radio's, but apparently they still are dispatched off the Atlanta TRS.

Here in Catoosa county GSP is on the Hamilton County system also. They communicate frequently. Mostly for DUI transports to the jail and with other officers. However they are still dispatched out of Dalton.

Yeah, GSP can communicate with Atlanta and Cobb, but yet Cobb, Atlanta, Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Clayton, Douglas and everyone else in the Metro area still can't talk to each other!

True, Mike, but as a retiree of BellSouth, I'm very proud of the fact that the greatest interoperability technology that the was invented over 100 years ago remains and is available to every one of those agencies you named to talk to each other - the telephone!!!

When Hall County had a search going last week, GSP was patched into Hall's digital TRS - for a while you could listen on 154.905 and hear Hall County SO's traffic as it was patched - GSP talked on 154.905, Hall County on their TRS. Interesting time.

They didn't find the guy though.

i have yet to even see GSP remotely doing any ops in Clayton. they just leave our ghetto mess to ourselves
