Before I ask my question, I would like to give you some information that might aid you in answering my question.

I live in Decatur county, it is in the very southwest corner of the state, the county seat is Bainbridge.
The post that covers my county is the Colquitt post 14, located in our neighboring county to the north.
I am aware that troop G communications are coming out of the city of Americus, which is about 100 miles to the north.
I know that troopers car radios transmit with 110 watts.

A couple of times I have heard troopers make reference to "the Bainbridge tower" like for example: "Colquitt, I'm having a hard time hearing you, I don't think that you're coming through on the Bainbridge tower". Does GSP have some type of repeater on my county's 911 tower? (The 911 tower is probably where it is located)

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!!!!!

What they are most likely doing is working off of Voice Private Line. Which means that there are dedicated telco lines from Americas to several different towers so when they key up on Bainbridge, they are talking from Americas, but the voice is going through the telco line to the tower where it keys up the remote radio. In essence, you could have a single dispatch center located in Atlanta with private lines going to all the towers, thus eliminating the need for dispatch centers throughout the State. Of course, this is VERY political and will most likely never happen in our lifetime.

Hope this helps.

The Georgia State Patrol uses their statewide Motobridge system for dispatch operations. Prior to the system, GSP had about 50 different dispatch centers (1 at each post). Now they have 8 or 9 regional centers that dispatch for the entire troop area. All of the individual posts are still there and normally have a couple of people there during normal business hours for administrative work but all of the communication personnel were relocated to the regional centers.

The Motobridge uses leased T1 circuits to connect all of their fixed infrastructure (base stations and consoles) for areawide or statewide communications. The operator has the ability to transmit on all towers within the troop at one time or pick and choose which ones they need to transmit on.

It is kind of a mixed (up?) system. The post in my city is Post 45 and they are heard on our county MOT 800 MHz analog system along with all other LE services here.

But, the next city over identifies as Post 42 - RIncon GSP - however they are in different troop and they are dispatched from Brunwick GA on the SEGARRN 700 Mhz P-25 digital system.

Too add to the confusion, the nearest site to me for the SEGARRN P-25 is right here in town and their antennas are on the very same tower.

SO, to be clear, Post 42 is Digital P-25 on 700 MHz and Post 45 is Analog 800 Mhz on the same tower!
(and we wonder why they have to talk on the old VHF car-to-car channel!).

Some Metro areas have GSP working off of their TRS/DTRS. In Metro Atlanta they operate off of the Atlanta DTRS, They still have VHF radio's in their cars for when they go out of range (see the GSP wiki for a list of all their frequencies in the VHF radios).

Does GSP use any type of PL codes? I monitor them on my Kenwood TK-7150 mounted in my truck and I have the squelch turned down very low because it helps to hear the troopers, BUT I am picking up other troops/communications centers and some department that is out of state and it is very staticy and annoying.

How do I program my radio to do CSQ? Do I just program in the frequencies with no PL tones? That is how I currently have it.

Only the 155.190/155.910 VHF repeaters in the Atlanta Metro area ever had PL, to my knowledge. I think it was 192.8. The simplex statewide channels are (or were) all CSQ.

Exactly. Just remember, unless your antenna has A LOT of elevation, don't look to be able to receive the mobile side (154.8000) very well.
