I know when some amateur radio operators were trying to determine what GPS receivers would work with their Kenwood TH-D7A, TM-D700, or TM-D710 radio for APRS. the discussion came up to use a Garmin Nüvi 300 series, StreetPilot c340, StreetPilot 7000 series, StreetPilot 2820 series, StreetPilot 2720 series, or Zumo 400 and 500 series navigation receiver to the Kenwood TH-D7A, TM-D700, or TM-D710 radio with the GTRANS Garmin To NMEA Translator Cable. Anyway, since those automobile GPS units will work for APRS using that cable, I am just wondering if that would also work with the Uniden Home Patrol HP-1, since it needs NMEA 0183 data output.

Maybe this is the one that would work.

While I don't have specific information about those products, if it works for other devices requiring NMEA 0183 input, then it shoud work for he HomePatrol-1 (or any other NMEA 0183 dependent device).
