Guadalupe County volunteer fire departments will soon have two repeaters to use for fire communications replacing the old single channel simplex system. The new fire channel one will be located near Geronimo with the receive frequency being still 154.310. The new fire channel two is already in operation and is located near New Berlin with the receive being 155.070. Of course there are still the five tactical channels licensed to the Guadalupe County Fire Fighters Association that are in use for fireground comms. New Berlin still continues to operate a two site ltr system shared with McQueeney fire as well. There is word that Seguin Fire/EMS will be placing atleast one additional repeater up in the near future but no details yet.

Just a little update!

The transmit frequencies are the inputs for the repeaters. The receive frequencies are what you want to listen to as those are the repeater output frequencies.

Unless they are semi-duplex.

Heard a page to all units last Friday around noon on 154.310. Stated something about a change to the radio system going into effect on 02/24/2005 at 13:00. Sorry but do not remember what else she said about it.

You are correct, the original swithover date was last friday for all fire depts to change GCF channel 1 over to repeater. However, the saga goes on and has been rescheduled at this point to Feb 24. It seems as if there is some confusion as to how the licensing was done as the license does show to be 155.985 FB2 and 154.310 MO which is the exact oposite of what the fire departments had requested and were under the impression of. More to come!!! Currently most departments are working off the new channel 2 which can be heard on 155.070.
