Guard Freq?

Haven't monitered aircraft in long time but heard Air Life talking with there dispatcher on there channel asking if they were monitoring the "Guard" channel and if they were having any problems with it. What Guard channel are the talking about? is it the 123.025? Dispatch also told Air Life 3 to contatct him on "Victor" to get a good range on it, No idea what that is either. Any Help?

VHF Guard is 121.5 (Victor = VHF) for civil/commercial flights
UHF Guard is 243.0 (Uniform=UHF) for military flights
