Guardian Angels "vigilante group" issued DC Police

This seems very strange - and hasn't yet been officially verified by MPD, but I also heard the call go out Wed. night for someone with an unauthorized radio:

I find it really hard to believe in a time when the city's on an elevated threat level they let some Guardian Angels play around with an issue radio.

Well... thats kind of scary. I find it very hard to belive that cheif ramsy (sp?) let that happen. No doubt the 'guardian angles' are good, and most if not all of them are just looking for ways to help people. But I dont think that they should be treated as police. You dont see neighborhood watch people getting radio's! :roll: Plus, on news ch4 they were talking about terrors't stealing ambulance's, and FD/PD stuff. Whats more offical than a radio, and you can get a fake badge anywhere!

Another note: Maby the vigialent groups like them should have radio's. But they shouldnt have the police ones. They could have different talk groups. Just an idea.
