Good Evening! I was checking for the City of Guelph area freqs. and was wondering if it came under Waterloo Region or Wellington County. And is it a Trunked System? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

The City of Guelph is in Wellington County so start there.

Also check out Bell Fleetnet Zone 1 for the City of Guelph Police and Fire Services.

EMS, Police, and Fire are all on Fleetnet for the lovely city of Guelph.

EMS is dispatched from Cambridge CACC (not sure if it's Cambridge North, or South, but I would imagine South... Can someone clarify?)

Police and Fire have their own TGs on Fleetnet. As mentioned by Mike, Guelph is in Wellington County.

Guelph (Royal City) havent migrated yet to Fleetnet. They are still on 152.330, dispatched by Cambridge and covering Dufferin and Weelington Co.

Ahh, ok... Royal City Ambulance hasn't switched to fleetnet? Or any unit that is operating/covering the Guelph area?

...and just for the sake of completion, the Guelph tower is usually the only Fleetnet tower that carries the Guelph PS/FD talkgroups.

I actually heard a lot of PD (320) and FD (400) on the Balinfad towers over the last 2 or 3 weeks now too...

Well, the same principle would likely apply to Guelph PS on Fleetnet as the OPP and EMS...if you stray from the regular coverage area (Guelph tower) into another coverage area (Ballinafad tower) those talkgroups will appear. Could have been a prisoner transfer to somewhere along the 401 east of Guelph.

Mike_oxlong, is this a fair assumption?

Yes, you are correct fine sir.

Keep in mine that Ballinafad covers the area northeast of Guelph as well. A car straying up Hwy24 would be in range of Ballinafad as well.

I've heard them on Cedarwoods too.

Thanks for the reply, Mike. I figured as much. Must be a treat for Guelph PS officers to be able to travel almost anywhere in Southern Ontario and still be in contact with their dispatcher.

...wait, on the other hand, any chance I can go in communicado with MY supervisor I'm happy...

I've seen the Guelph groups active off of the Edgar tower at times.

How about Guelph University? Anyone have like any SafeWalk/ University Police etc. frequencies?

Try a TAFL "Licensee Name" search under "University of Guelph". There's a bunch of VHF simplex stuff there. I can't vouch for it, but it's a start.
