At my computer, duh!
Scanner has been silent since late Saturday. Much of the time it's been parked on county fire dispatch and nothing else on, but last night or this morning I'm not getting any traffic on Sheriff or EMS dispatch either, and they're not often silent. Even search doesnt turn up traffic this morning.

Is something going on with the system, or have I gotten my scanner into some wierd mode. They went into failsafe sometime Friday, but that usually only lasts a couple hours. No signal on either of the control channels out this way, but I am getting (weak) traffic on 453.75. Garbled enough that its doubtful if it would activate pagers.

Thumbtrap, at work now so I can't check, but I will check when I get home this evening and see if I get any traffic.

Like you say, if the GC system is quiet, something is wrong somewhere.

They may have rotated the control channels AGAIN. They did that a few weeks back and that took the SHP units off-line. The radios have been updated since then and the SHP sites are now on-line and networked, so it isn't an issue now, but that doesn't mean scanners and radios outside the system aren't affected.

The control channels have been rotating quite frequently. Additionally, in the past week or so, the system was completely down one afternoon. There was no CC broadcasted and the Greensboro and GC communications made an announcement indicating likewise. They said that the radios were operating as if in Emergency mode, and from what I observed, they were operating in conventional. The radios would beep every 10 seconds indicating that they were still active.

Was this a test?
