Has anyone started a list of Radio ID aliases in Guilford County yet. I am thinking of trying to start a list since the Pro-106 and GRE scanner now allow that option. I didn't want to go to the trouble of relisting something someone already has though.

Feel free to start a list and share what you compile.
Our only rule about RIDs is that RR.com will not display RID lists that would compromise the security of any public safety personnel. Meaning we will not allow lists that display RIDS to Individual names like 701357= Officer Joe Smith but we will allow something listing ranges like 701350-701370 is North Greensboro PD Officers. Note the above RIDs are in no way accurate just an example.
Have fun compiling your list and happy monitoring!

ok, so does that mean that for example you can't for example put the 12345 is Engine 25 or that 54321 is Car 456? You can only say that 10000 - 50000 are fire dept ???

LRR.com policy to help protect public safety personnel is to not allow linking a RID to a specific person:
Example: 701325 is officer Joe Smith is a no no.
701300-701400 is Main Town Fire Department is ok.
I have updated this post on 2-23-09 to make the rules clear.
I can understand where your confusion may have come from.
Please create a Wiki page if you want to compile lists of Ranges of RIDs.
Hope this makes the policy a little more clear.
Happy Monitoring!

This is what I have so far, can anybody add to it?

What part of the above did you not understand?
DO NOT POST SPECIFIC RIDS TO SPECIFIC UNITS OR PEOPLE.
If you have reading comprehension difficulties feel free to email
me at KE4ZNR@radioreference.com and I will be glad to explain the policy
in further detail to you.
Thanks,
Marshall KE4ZNR

Is It Just Me Or Does Something Not Look Right, The Moderator Here States One Thing To Me In One Post Then Turns Around And Bashes Me Following His Guidlines?????

None of what I posted linked RIDs to a persons name as stated about, everything was to a unit number or apparatus number. Now you bash me and say I can't post RIDs link to specific units.

I understand where your confusion may have come from and you are right I apologize about the confusion HOWEVER that does not change Radioreference.com policy.
Radioreference.com official policy is to not map specific RIDs to specific units.
You are encouraged to create a Wiki page that
lists ranges of IDs such as the page Robbyboy created for
VIPER:
VIPER - The RadioReference Wiki
Thanks for your understanding and thanks for being a part of RR.com!

well that is alot clearer, and thank you for the apology. From my records so far it would be impossible to group Guilford County RIDs into that type of grouping, the numbers jump around to much.

I will keep working on my list and if anyone can help or has information please PM me. Thanks

Here is a suggestion:

This is a fictional example:

RID User
1-3 City PD
4-7 County SO
8-10 City PD

The below would be a no-no

RID
12345 City PD Unit 12

Whats the big deal right? Some unsavory people could easily put 2+2 together and compromise unit safety as well as potential investigations...

Hope this helps as well!
