Visited Gulfport and Biloxi yesterday (09/14/05) as a contractor with clearance to pass the checkpoints.

I was too busy to do much monitoring but did catch the following:

45.3400 - State Police
123.0250 - Air to Air
155.3400 - Gulfport Memorial Hospital
157.0500 - Coast Guard, 'Camp Cottonmouth', very busy channel
165.2850 - Digital
166.4625 - Simplex, guys testing radios
415.2000 - Encrypted
241.0000 - Army Helos (photo: http://www.sendpix.com/albums/05091419/df3j0u94uq/ )
282.4250 - 'Wolf 2'

The Biloxi EDACS system was up with lots of fire departments comms but did not hear any police (I would not expect to if they are Pro-Voice).

To add to this...

Harrison County EOC is on 146.730 mHz
Alternate is 146.8800 mHz (shared with Red Cross)

Red Cross Gulfport Operations is 146.4200 and 147.4200 mHz

146.4200 is very active and a controlled net between the main red cross ops and all of the shelters. If you wanna know what Red Cross is doing, that's the frequency to monitor. A friend of mine told me Motorola installed an APCO25 800mHz TRS in Hancock County (note I've not been able to hear any new control channels it might be a small site) And Florida Highway Patrol brought over a mobile command post in Jackson County located at the Gautier High School and they're using an 800mhz Motorola II TRS. I found the CC the other day and began scanning them. two talkgroups active are 3232 and 3330. Both were law enforcement and it sounded like they were operating mainly in Gautier.

I've noticed a lot of different agencies here, indiana state police being a main one. I noticed a couple of troopers had VHF portables, I've not been able to find anything in the usual public safety bandplans yet. A lot and I mean A LOT of the Military Police are using FRS radios. So if you wanna find some action with them tune through the FRS/GMRS band.

I wish I had more. I just got back down here a couple of days ago and still trying to put the pieces together. Shortly I'll have my online scanner back up and running and I'll add what I find to it for all to listen.

there is a new law enforcement group in the Biloxi area now and they're on 155.01000 mHz simplex.
They're doing a lot of ops right around the area where I live
