Three hurt in mine accident in Somerset

Up to three miners were airlifted from Paonia to St. Mary’s Hospital after an underground vehicle accident at Oxbow Coal Mine in Somerset, authorities said.
Six miners were involved in the accident at 3 p.m. Saturday, said Sgt. Randy Barnes of the Gunnison County Sheriff’s Department.
“Two or three of them flew in a helicopter to St. Mary’s,” Barnes said. “We don’t know the extent of injuries.”
