Supposedly, animal control is also on the system, but the TG is not listed in the database.

But other than listening to the typical "grandma fell and can't get up" EMS or structure fire call, not much on the GC DTRS one can listen to.

And not only is the County encrypted, but all the municipalities are as well! Might catch a trash truck or two on there. I would listen to the Atlanta system, more action, awesome audio!

FD only in Gwinnett. But you can listen to Forsyth county, There are some Hall county Event channels listed in the RR database. If you are visiting in Gwinnett, ATL will be hard to hear on the scanner depending on where you are in the county. DeKalb also has some interesting comms.
PM me.

Is gsp encrypted also?

GSP troop C on the Atlanta DTRS is in the clear.
But even the troopers in Gwinnett that now can be found lining I-85?! If Atlanta doesn't come in that well in Gwinnett, wouldn't they most likely be using Gwinnett's top secret DTRS?

Are you just looking for public safety or are you interested in business and ham also?

No. They are still on 154.68 for dispatch, and 154.8 for mobile troopers. Load the frequencies from the RR database in. I've noticed a lot of traffic on 154.6725 that is not related to the main dispatch frequency. These are still analog.
GA DNR went to P-25 last year. 159.600/ NAC 151 (even though the database admins for GA haven't changed it yet). They are active and do help the GSP on occasion.

Even for the troopers in Gwinnett who have been seen in large numbers on i-85 over the past several months since they built their new post or whatever?

Yes, but I think that they are using 154.6725 also. Definitely been hearing more of the mobiles since then too.

I wonder what some good ham frequencies to listen to would be for Gwinnett
Seriously:confused: GARS repeater is only busy on Monday nights with their nets. Forsyth has more talk on 147.15, which has a better signal up by us than 147.075. Lack of conversations was why I went to D-Star almost two years ago. Then I haven't been on for almost a year. I'm the wrong one to be asked that question:)

Well I don't scan the ham band very often and when I do, outside of Manic Mondays with all the nets going on at the same time, the only freq in analog I ever hear anyone talking on anymore is 147.57 simplex.
Those QSOs appear to be lengthy and rather nontraditional in nature.
