Ron, did you monitor those yourself? Where did you get these?

Are you sure they are USN?

Yes, I have been hearing them most of the day. I stumbled upon them by accident. They have been active with a lot of EAMs, and at one time they ID'd themselves as "Link 11." They read off their list of frequencies that are preset in their radios. Ironically, several of their HF transceivers are not in working order, so another special shipment is on the way from Hawaii. Nothing like a real epic disaster, to find out that your communications gear is in need of repair.

Are these AM or FM ? And if they're SATCOM I'm assuming these are operating off of Satellite so depending on condtions should be able to hear these regardless of location?

Been hearing alot of SATERN stations on 3977.7 and 14.265 but no replys from the disaster area that I've heard. But there's been crosstalk saying stations should be coming on air today or tomrrow. I'm going to try monitoring Red Cross HF today as well and I'll let ya'll know what I hear. 73.

Just heard on 14,265khz: HH6JH (Father John) reports that several hundred people are walking from Port au Prince to ??, a distance of 125 miles. According to several stations who could hear him well, said that Father John's signal was barely intelligible due to distortion, probably from very low battery voltage.

Busy activity this afternoon on 14.300. A few "Aviation Mobile" Check-ins giving visuals on the distruction below. Also heard a station in Haiti giving updates. I know this is old news, but I'm just dropping feedback.

One of the live feeds from the area is my own. If you have a frequency that you think is interesting, please PM me, and I will try and move the HF rig over in that direction.

You can always find where my rig is by going here: Long Island Live Scanner Feeds: W2LIE's HRD Logbook
If I am connected to HRD, my frequency will populate.

Logs very much appreciated, but *please* use commas and periods in your frequencies. Ugh!

No need for the 'x' at all, actually. Frequencies in khz are all understood worldwide. 3.791 mhz is easily recognizable as 3791 khz, for example. It's simple math....73 Mike

I'm listening to the SATERN net on 3.977.7 right now and NCS says he just got word that another HAM will be down in Haiti soon. F4EGS will be operating as HH/F4EGS. Hopefully we'll hear some more traffic coming out of the effected area soon.

I think CNN and other news agencies have brought in their own satellite equipment, but 'public' phone service and internet is not running. They don't have any power! Even the hams that are there are running batteries or generators (if they can get fuel).
