Probably varies a lot place to place. Halloween was wild back in the 90s, lots of kids out causing trouble, egging houses, toilet paper treatment on trees, etc. It seems a lot more tame these days.

I'd be inclined to listen to my local PD to see if anything was going on in my neighborhood is about all. Just another day otherwise.

I don't typically listen to those bands, so I'm not sure. It would depend on if anyone in your neighborhood was using it. CB is pretty quiet in my area but in other parts of the country it's used more. I doubt Halloween has any impact on marine bands. The best you can do is turn on your scanner and see

Back in the 70's & 80's, on Halloween, after dinner, my parents & I would fire up the County Sheriff Dispatch, the county had more activity that day than in the city

Nobody really uses radios anymore but 15 years ago you used to catch some trick or treaters using bubble packs so it was a fine way to keep track of activity in the neighborhood.

What I should’ve tuned into was the local hospital, stuff sometimes gets entertaining around this day from people doing dumb stuff. Hospital went into lockdown after there was a stabbing earlier and both the people got brought in and then family started showing up.

Unfortunately I missed a good chunk of that because I was listening to a local pirate frequency to see if they had any mischief and that was what tipped me off when one of the guys mentioned seeing the end of it happen.

So either scan your local law enforcement (mine uses a TAC channel for Halloween specific activity) or any hospital repeaters in your area.

FRS has always been popular around here on Halloween, but I don't care to listen to that band anymore since even when it's not Halloween it's full of kids and the annoying roger beep crap these bubble pack radios all have. In fact my neighbors bought their kids some FRS radios and my close call kept going off so I had to omit that FRS band in the scanners. Very annoying. LOL

Next to no one uses MURS and thank the Gods of Mt. Olympus. Because that's the band I chose to use when I need license free radio Comms around the house.

Lame compared to the older days in terms of the criminal mischief is a fraction of what it used to be called in. Typical pack of kids causing damage. As usual, a lot more driving complaints. . Still get those suspicious vehicles, especially vans driving thru neighborhoods got some traction, lots more on NextDoor after the 911 call went out. Description was a plain van, but everybody thinks old ratty van, bubble window, blacked out back windows, total chomo vehicle in all the tv shows
