Good Evening Guys! I was wondering if there has been any changes in the radio systems of Halton Region. I have not picked up any PD chatter for a couple of weeks. I have not changed anything on my radios, I have checked Radio Reference Database and nothing has seemed to have changed. Hamilton is very active though. Any one heard anything from Halton? Thanks for your comments!

Last week I heard some chatter but, to be honest with you, there isn't much PD talk on the Burlington site most days. Fire uses the system regularly but HRPS tend to use the MDTs when they can.

I'll listen when I get home today but it's likely just another slow day/week/month for the Halton Recreational Police Service.

Halton Trunk Talkgroups

Speaking of Halton Region there is a bunch of talkgroups that are not listed on RR that I have gotten that I have been trying to identify. Anyone know what these ones are? The () is what tower I heard the talkgroup on.

01-142 (Burlington, Halton Hills, Oakville)
02-031 (Burlington)
02-032 (Burlington, Oakville)
02-143 (Burlington)
02-145 (Burlington)
02-146 (Burlington, Halton Hills)
04-023 (Halton Hiills)
06-022 (Burlington, Oakville)
09-082 (Oakville)

Looking at the scheme on RR its seems that 01-xxx is for police, 02.xxx is burlintgon, 04-xxx and 06-xxx is halton hills but what is 09-xxx?

HRPS talking on talkgroup 15-144 loud and clear yesterday afternoon...

Matt, did you hear any of the conversations on those talkgroups? 01-141 is the tactical clear talkgroup so my assumption is that 01-142 could be tactical secure or another tactical channel. I don't listen to Burlington often enough to know for sure.

02-031 and 02-032 may end up being BFD training channels. Again, just a guess. Groups in the 04-xxx and 06-xxx could be municipal services (works, water, parks, etc) in Georgetown/Halton Hills, too.

Ya I have heard conversations on all of those channels that I listed but yet to pin what they are done.. One of the 02-xxx groups, either 02-031 or 02-032, I heard what definately sounded like Burlington Fire Comms yesterday afternoon.

Jelltor: There are 4 patch groups used on the Halton system that are regually used, 15-141, 15-142, 15-143, 15-144. Did you hear the fire call yesterday mid afternoon on the Burlington Skyway? Burlington and Hamilton both responded to the call and switched over to I-Tac2 (PL 156.7).

No, I've been busy with a few other projects lately and haven't had much time to monitor, so I missed that one. HFD & BFD use one of the ITAC channels a lot when dealing with incidents on the skyway. I've also heard it used when both departments respond to calls on the 403 between Waterdown Rd. and Hwy 6, just not as often.

I know 15-144 is the patch used for Oakville/Burlington HRPS operations but I had no idea about the other patches. Are they strictly HRPS or do other agencies use them? Like I said before, I don't generally monitor Halton anymore but perhaps I'll start again.

Halton Patches

ya the call on the skyway I belive was for a car that was on fire. I couldn't hear the whole situation as I am back and forth at my desk at work so I ended up missing part of what was going on.

I am not really sure who those other patches are used by actually. Never really payed close atttenton to if there was one exclusive user. i will have to pay more attention and see if I can pin down who is using what patch.

01-142

I just heard some chatter on 01-142. They where talking about how some of the new streets in Oakville especially don't show up on the DMTI map? One of them also mentioned something about returned to District 3 which gives me the impression that this is definately police related but I have yet to pin this down exactly? Maybe it is some type of Admin channel?

Well Distict 1 is for Halton Hills, and Milton, within District 1, 10 Division Serves serves the Acton side of Halton Hills, 11 Division serves the Georgetown side of Halton Hills and 12 Division serves Milton. You would find more of the communications on the Halton Hills tower but you might find some on the Burlington and Oakviille tower. 01-022 is Halton Regional Police's dispatch for Milton and halton Hills.
