Is there a shop or person who works on ham radios in the Raleigh area?

Bought a Yaesu 857 used that I'd like to get checked out.

It doesn't appear to tx on 2m. I don't have the know how or equipment to diagnose it myself.

Thanks in advance.

While it's certainly possible that someone might set up a small shop almost anywhere, I am not aware of any "ham-oriented" repair shops for Yaesu products anywhere in the east. There is (was?) an ICOM person in SC (Anderson/Clemson area maybe?) but I don't know if he works on other brands. I think most folks these days send their rigs off to the "official" shop for their brand. You could also contact one of the larger ham equipment sellers for repair suggestions.

Hmm... just found the SC fellow - Paul Hansen W6XA, Anderson, SC
