Updated Photos 2001 CVPI
I wasn't going to say this before posting my updated pix, but I better anyway. I am a retired police officer, now working full-time for a company that markets and sells communications equipment, emergency lights, sirens, and accessories. The car is a mobile showroom of sorts, plus it's my primary mode of transportation. All of the lights are amber and white, except for the tail and back-up lights, which of course are red. I use my car for demonstrating our products, so before you start labeling my CVPI a "W-word," re-read the previous explanation. Thank you for your courtesy.
The equipment is as follows:
Kenwood TM-D700 UHF/VHF/APRS ham radio
Yaesu FT-857D all-band all-mode ham radio
Uniden BCD996T Astro 25 digital scanner
Motorola CM300 VHF commercial radio
Motorola M1225 UHF commercial radio
Motorola LCS2000 900 Mhz amateur radio
Code 3 light control, air horn (only), and PA
Code 3 Narro-Stik light control
Various PSE Amber (an amber light division of Code 3) XT3's, strobes, dash & visor lights, "flash-back" tail, back-up, and headlight light flasher systems.
This is not an emergency vehicle, however, I carry a letter from the manufacturer which legally allows me to operate this conveyance on the public hiways. The State of Illinois has a section in the Vehicle Code that permits representatives of companies that sell this equipment authorization to have it for demonstration purposes.
I am not a police officer, I did that for 35 years. I am a manufacturer's rep and work full-time for the Company.
