Hamden PD 460.025 has become silent on this date 10/24. I live in Woodbridge and Hamden always came in 5/5...even w/out the the roof mount.
Did they change frequencies? or Something else?

Nothing has changed. There has been activity, albeit quieter than normal. Which is a good thing for a change.

You are correct. I was going to "gift" a Uniden 350A from my scanner collection to someone who resides in Hamden. But, although I was able to load it up with every frequency of possible interest to the 82 year old "wanna be scanner" listener, the frequency of 460.025 is accepted when programed, BUT, will not receive any transmissions. Every other of the 19 frequency slots which I have programmed work in the "Private" bank just fine. Hence my question re: Hamden PD. After reading your post this morning I fired up 8 radios...they all received Hamden PD ...except for the 350A. Wife said: It's 7:30a, turn all of it off...NOW!

Thanx for your input.

the 350a was never a terribly sensitive reciever, and i doubt that yours got any better with age. There is the chance that it might work for someone who lives in town to overcome that lack of sensitivity and for it to work well. Are they close to the towers?

If they have LOS of the Dixwell tower or Sacred Heart, they might just get it fine. You never know until you try. Can't speak authoritatively for them, but maybe you always got Sacred Heart as you live in Woodbridge, and they have that site down for service or maintenance and you can't recieve the other one?

Thank you again...the recipient of my largess resides on Shepard Ave., but on the lower part..or is it upper part? going towards Whitney. Perhaps I perform a field survey of my own on Thursday or Friday, but in any event, I keep my word and I have 35+ plus scanners to "gift". Anyone care for a BC 210?? Plus crystals galore for the crystal controlled scanners. Oh, how I miss the old days!! Talking on the main set at 4am at OPD (45.24) with Clearwater Florida.

Shepard Avenue...numbering starts at Dixwell Avenue and is the lower section. The higher section ends at Whitney Avenue, at the traffic control signal opposite Aunt Chilada's restaurant...around the 2400 block of Shepard.
