Thanks for this! Just ordered a SDS100 (backordered) & getting back in to the hobby after a long absence (used to run IndyScan.com & donated all my Indiana info to RR back in the day). Good morning! Finally received the SDS100 on Monday & have been playing with it ever since.

I've setup the FTO search on the 154.010 frequency used here but I've run into an issue. It took me a minute to figure it out but the numbers didn't look right.

We have a lot of departments that tone out with a low/high tone but the logs had just the opposite. I.E. A-2175.1 B-598.0. After running the search overnight I have about 90 entries. Most have the A-Tone as 2175 which is just not right. Turns out there is a high pitched tone on the Simulcast to 154.010 & I think thats tricking the scenery. I'm hoping a filter setting might help but wanted to start here & ask for suggestions.

My old GP-300 that's been used to exclusively (for years) listen to 154.010 has that same high pitched tone. Guess I just got used to it!

This is what they were in Aug 2019. Not sure if changes have been made, especially to the volunteers. However we were using a call alert function to each station for the "Big four" and a generic two tone, a low/high combo, which is basically what IndyScan has documented. If memory serves me right, 597.8/932ish would be the default/generic tone for the career departments.

Now that they are taxing people for 911 services, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't move to an automated dispatch program of some sorts. In 2018/2019, we had vetted numerous vendors and Purvis was the recommended vendor due to their cost, support, and customization. The "new" administration decided all of that work wasn't good enough and wanted to start over. Months of hard work tossed down the drain.

2175 Hz is the guard tone used when sending audio over a tone remote system. It starts out at a higher level for 120 ms and then drops to 30 dB below the high level during the time audio is being sent to the transmitter. This is used to prevent a stuck PTT on the xmtr.
