I haven't turned my radio on today, but i haven't heard anything about rebanding the system, not to say it hasn't been done. I'll let you know if I'm having any problems when i get a chance to turn my radio on.

Can you walk us through your program settings for the system?

Do you have the radio set on P25 Auto or Manual?

I'm not receiving the system either

Check the rebanding frequencies which are in the 851-854 MHz sub-band. Unless there was a conflict with an existing licensee who did not have to relocate, Hamilton County and Cincinnati should be using frequencies exactly 15 MHz below their current 866-868 MHz frequencies.

Dont have any info about custom tables yet. I'm using this one:

P25 Manual (Set to P25 Manual before entering custom table)

Base Lo: 0
Base High: 65535
Offset: 0
Base Freq: 851.006250

Need help with rebanding

I do not know the first thing how to do this I have a pro-2096 desk top police scanner bought 2 years ago.. lost vc channel for west side. I live in Delhi Township.. the guy who programmed the scanner put monix system or program into it having trouble accessing their yahoo group.. Radio Shack told me they can't help me because it is not their program and that guy was let go for putting this program into people scanners,
my question is do I have to download that monix file into my scanner or can I just trunk the new west side frequency in. Like I said I do not know the first thing about any technical stuff that needs to be downloaded or uploaded. Sorry about being so dense about this but if someone can tell me what to do next. I am at my wits end. I am thinking about going up to my local Radio Shack and just asking them what they can do for me... Oh yeah I will need step by step instructions how to do this in English terms.....thanks for any help provided.....

The Custom Tables for the Hamilton County-Cincinnati system will need to be reset and that can only be done through software on the Pro-2096.
Radio Shack stopped making/selling that scanner 3 years ago and no longer supports it, going to a Radio Shack
with that model will get you no where.

Can you bring it with you to one of the weekly MONIX meetings?
If so, they can re-program it right there and get it all taken care of for you.
They meet every Tuesday at 12 Noon at the American Legion Post in Greenhills,
11100 Winton Road. Walk up the green ramp to the north door and come on in.

The meetings last a couple of hours I believe, I cannot make them due to work. Rebanding should only occur this one time, but not every system in the area has rebanded yet. Warren County has yet to reband, same for Ohio MARCS.

I've just found that the PRO-96 handheld scanner that my wife purchased and had programmed at Radio Shack in Fall, 2005 is no longer picking up any of the transmissions from Cincinnati Police or the Hamilton Co. Sheriff (there might be others, but that is what I have quickly noticed). I did call Radio Shack and they advised those agencies are apparently no longer making their analog signal available which what is needed for that model to receive it. Is my model something that can be re-programmed by someone familar with it? Thank you for any information.

A Pro-96 is the first Gen of digital scanners and it will pick up Hamilton County's digital signal with no problem. It just needs to be reprogrammed
for the rebanding that took place earlier this week. Check the previous messages before this one. If you can make a MONIX meeting we can re-program it for you. Radio Shack no longer supports that particular model as it was discontinued three years ago.

Thank you for your very kind offer. Am I correct that the meetings are each Tuesday at the Greenhills location? I thought something was wrong because no Cincinnati or Hamilton Co. calls were coming in this week and that scanner has picked up almost everything in this area since I got it as a Christmas gift in 2005. Now, all that comes in are in the transmissions from the older frequences in the 100's and 400's. I've still got all of the paperwork that came with it - including the box. Thanks.

Hamilton Co TRS Control Channel has changed to 853.5875, best to put in all four of the frequencies mentioned on here.

A new DST Clone will be available Tuesday at the Greenhills American Legion Oct 5th.

We are still waiting for the Cincinnati side to change frequencies.
