Heard a lot of talk to night on the local 2 meter band that Hamilton County and the city are going back to analog for the time being due to the poor performance of the new digital system..anyone heard the same thing???

I work for the city of Blue Ash and have not heard that for the Hamilton County system at all. If they did that the cost would be enormous as in Blue Ash we have around 50 radios (police dept only, unsure of fire and other) that would have to be reprogrammed. We don't have any of the old radios to fall back on at all.

Performance of the system though has really gotten terrible lately though. There is just a massive amount of digital breakup and the dead spots seem to be increasing. Not sure why this is though.

It would be more difficult for the County to go back to analog at this point in time since they dismantled there UHF repeaters shortly after the 800 system went online. And if Iam not mistaken the county did away with there old UHF radios as well. However in terms of the City they were the smart ones between the two and have kept there UHF repeaters up and running as well as keeping there old UHF radio's around as well in case something were to happen to the 800 system they would have something to fall back on.
