I've had 165.7 MHz programmed into my GRE PSR-600 for months now but until 9:30 this morning have heard very little on this frequency other than occasional encryption or test counts. According to my files this is a Hampton Roads federal P25 repeater. Today "FBI Dispatch" conducted a 20-min roll call of Hampton Roads security facilities/agencies to include police depts in VB, Chesapeake, Hampton, N News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Franklin plus numerous fed agencies such as USCG, Langley AFB, Oceana NAS, ICE, Norfolk Naval Base, Ft. Eustis, Monroe, Story and many others. This freq is obviously an important one for coord during major events, but it surprised me how few agencies responded when called (twice) by "FBI Dispatch." Well under half, I'd say. And, sorry to say, some of those that did respond, seemed unsure of how to manage the contact, with extended periods of open mike, laughter and voice in background. Anyone else have experience with this net?

Many thanks for the replies. I will keep this freq in the scanner, but it sounds like it will be active only during exercises and radio checks until/unless we have a major incident.

I guess that's why they had a practice roll call...

Thanks for the report, I'm making sure it gets in the scanner.
