Idk... I used to read those forums and post occasionally. But after reading it for a while, you learn that its just a bunch of dumb ass people who have nothing better to do with thier life than photoshop things. :) Although i do have to say they publish some very funny stuff. :)

You really can't take anything on that webiste seriously. It's poking fun at the dorky side of being a ham. Sure, it's a fun hobby but there are some people that go way overboard and this site shows the lighter side of that. I'm hamsexy and proud of it!

I have a problem with a website that takes ordinary individuals and holds them up to ridicule, without even giving them a chance to defend themselves. Nobody appointed these people as arbiters of good taste, in the ham world or anyplace else.

And it's not just making fun of ham ops that pushes my buttons. Several years ago somebody posted a picture of a deputy sheriff on here and everybody was poking fun at his appearance. I objected to that, also. Frankly, the way I was brought up, that's rude and unacceptable behavior. I know manners aren't politically correct, but my parents were old school, and did their best to install a set of values in me. Doesn't always show, I know!

now that is cool!

I was just talking about the picture.... I am no radio guru, but I can identify 2 Motorola XTS5000, some kinda Kenwood, a BC296D, and either a BCD396T or a BR330

and I agree: Hamsexy has some pretty stupid stuff on it!

And so does this site. The bickering back and forth by several is really starting to wear a little thin.

The same "radiogods" they poke fun at are just as active here.

You wouldn't be talking about the 2 or 3 guys that are always bickering about exact definitions and proper terms in the main forums, would you? They're not gods, they're experts! I don't recall the exact quote, nor who said it, but it went something alongs the lines of the more expert a person was in one area or field, they more likely it was that they believed they were experts in any field. Not that I don't get up on my soapbox from time to time, but I've found that as people grow older, they either become convinced they know almost everything, or they realize how little they do know. Me, I'm generally in the second catagory.

I'm with you, Mark and Mark...

1. "if you don't have something nice to say" - it's all too easy to be abrasive when you're not looking someone in the eye. We would all do well to rememer the manners we learned as youngsters.

2. Humility is a lost art these days. There are many versions of this principal, from many philosophers and teachers: "a fool speaks, a wise man listens"

Oh, get over yourself.....

The site is what it is. If you like it, fine. If you don't, fine also.

We don't claim to be the be all or end all of anything.. just a place to post funny photos of hams making goofs of themselves. We aren't some sort of mirror of morality or society... We're just a website.. relax!!

Also.. I'd be interested to see where we made fun of that "Deputy Sheriff" as you claim. I write a lot of the stuff for the main page and I can't remember one instance "several years ago" that we made fun of any law enforcement individual.

If you could point me to a page on the site that we did. I'd be more than willing to apologize for it. Hamsexy always has been a friend to law enforcement, and I can't for one imagine an instance where we made fun of anyone brave enough to wear the uniform.

Feel free to e-mail me off-list and let me know where we did this. taiwanbryan@REMOVESPAMgmail.com

Bryan, if you could read, you'd see I said "...somebody posted a picture of a deputy sheriff on here...". Now, where are we? Yes, we're on RadioReference!

Since when were you guys appointed arbiters of proper behavior, deciding when hams have made "goofs of themselves"? I might thinks canucks are known for "goofy" behavior, but it's never occurred to me to start a website "Canucksexy". Not being politically correct, just displaying the good manners and behavior I was raised with. Something they apparently don't teach up north.

Get over yourself!

(This is all I have to say on this subject, discussion closed.)

What does Canada have to do with hamsexy?

Maybe they're just dining out and deciding if they should all go see Brokeback Mountain--
