Hancock Co/Waveland area comm help

I have an EMS supervisor from my county here in NC stationed with the Carolina's MED-1 Field Hospital in Waveland as the Communications Unit Leader. He is trying to streamline the request for ambulance for transport from the field hospital to other hospitals in the area. Can anyone help with any local VHF or UHF frequencies and PL tones in the area that has access to the local EMS? I notice that the Radio Reference database does not really have anything for that area. Thanks for the help.

I realize it's a little late... I just got internet back yesterday. Hancock County is served by AMR and AMR is no longer using VHF. They're on the Harrison County's EDACS 800mhz TRS. And they're also using provoice. Along with MDT for dispatch.

They use to be on 155.2200 mHz but haven't used that for most of 2005.

If your EMS Supervisor needs to have comms with the Hancock County EOC, they're operating off of 146.7000 mHz with a PL of 136.5 Hz. This is a ham radio repeater in the BSL area. If he is a ham or has a radio capable of being programmed he should try that or 146.4200 mHz which is also monitored by Hancock County EOC and all of the Red Cross shelters there.

Thanks for that info, he is not a Ham but that may be something we start looking at for the future cause we have other supervisors deployed to the NC coast and I can see this happening more and more in the future. He told me in his email that today they should be getting 4 Voice over IP phones. What is weard about the frequency that AMR had is the same frequency that our local rescue squads are dispatched on and he has that in his radio I dont really know if the PL would be the same or not we use 131.8 in our county. Well 155.2200 mHz is a National EMS frequency. It's used by EMS all over the nation. It just happened to be AMR's old primary freq for this area. But like I said it's been silent now for several months ever since they moved on to the EDACS TRS. There might still be someone at their dispatch monitoring it but not sure. He could also try 155.3400 which happens to be the State Hospital Net. This is the frequency that all EMS services use in MS to communicate patient info to the Hospital. It's also listed as an emergency medical services net freq with M.E.M.A.

It's a shame I don't live over there, I'd try to asst him some. I happen to live in Biloxi, which is in Harrison County, next to Hancock. I'm about a 35 min drive from the Bay St. Louis/Waveland area which is where he is. You might want to have him give 155.2200 a try though. There's a chance AMR might still have that equipment in place in their control.

You know it just dawned on me. You said he was working in a MASH unit. He certaintly should be on 155.3400 mhz since that's where all of the ER's communicate with every ambulance in the state.

155.340 is actually what he had been using but he made mention that they took it down for some reason. He told me in he followup email that the local EMS finally give their hospital an offical name it is called "K-Mart General" if you ever hear that on the radio then you know what it is.
