For many months now I've noticed Hancock SO is simulcast on 152.030. Their normal repeater out is 155.64.

Anybody know the reason for this?

They have just upgraded their radio system and added a few more towers...so it might have to do with that. I have not tried that frequency so I can not offer much more info beside maybe it is something with the new system.

More towers? They should have had decent coverage already. Hell, they had good coverage in Columbiana, Jefferson, Belmont and Harrison over in Ohio rofl. I could take the antenna off my scanner, turn on the attenuator and still reliably copy them.

Thanks for the info. I still wonder why the need for a separate output. I guess time will tell.

Very interesting. I'll try to monitor tomorrow and see if 155.64 is still silent. Thanks for the heads up.

Russ,

Left the scanner on when I went to bed last night. Was hearing both 155.64 and the simulcast on 152.03. Both frequencies were very active.

I too programmed the 152.030 in and hear nonstop HCSO traffic, however the 155.640 doesnt lite up as often now. When HCSO starts talkin i hit scan to see if it stops on 155.640 and it doesnt, it keeps hittin on the 152.030. Can anybody farther north in Hancock Co tell me if they still hear 155.640? Also Weirton PD started pingin in on 156.100. The database has 156.090 which is their direct or transmit input, but they lite up on 154.800, 156.090, and the new 156.100.

While were chattin about Hancock Co....... does anybody know what New Cumberland Ambulance Service changed too? They do not run off off of Weirton Area ambulance 155.235 anymore, just wondered if anyone knew anything.

And before you tell me too check...... They do not operate on 155.220, 155.160, 155.235, 155.265, 155.175 (which used to be Lifeteam, think it still is), or 155.280.

I am home at my parents for the week and have heard the SO on 155.64 for all traffic here in New Cumberland. I have 155.64 set as my priority channel and it goes to that channel anytime there is traffic, it hasn't stopped and just stayed on the other channel but I have been able to hear all the traffic on that channel.

As for New Cumberland Ambulance, I have been wondering what they switched to for a while now but not sure. i haven't done any searching to find out either. I can not hear WAARS anymore in N.C.

Weirton, all I have listened to is 154.800 so I can not say for the other channels. But I may try and add the others in.
