handheld antenna

Hi all. I currently have a Radio Shack 800mhz specific antenna on a Uniden BC296D. I am having some difficulty picking up a Digital 800mhz trunked agency 15-20 miles away. The scanner will lock onto the control channel in some spots but not in others. I was wondering if there was another antenna that might give it the little boost that it needs to work in most areas of the house. All help is greatly appreciated.

The RS 8oo is a good antenna I know several people that run them on uniden scanners and have no problem. As far as other antennas you might try the Max Systems 8HH 800 antenna it will give you a little more gain. Good Scanin hoser147

15-20 miles away with a scanner-mounted antenna on 850 MHz? The short answer is "no".
