One thing to seriously consider is the battery capacity; especially if using it as a scanner. As much as I am enamored with the Alinco DJ-MD5TGP, the 1700 mAh battery is lame, IMHO.
It's the same symptons with dual-banders as with the Uniden SDS100 scanner. For some it works and for others it will not. It all depends of how and where you use them.
