Does anyone use a handheld transceiver? I'm looking at getting one mainly because the more that I talk about putting up an antenna the more my wife is complaining. I can handle the HOA if they got mad, but I can't handle listening to my wife say "that thing is so ugly" everytime she walks outside...lol Does anyone have any brands that they suggest? I'm looking at any that will operate on 2m & 70cm with upto 5 watts because I will be traveling a lot. Thanks

I've owned the Yaesu VX-6R for about 6 months now and I am very impressed with this little HT: http://universal-radio.com/catalog/ht/0666.html#feature

Some other popular 2m/440 HTs are:

Yaesu VX-7R: http://universal-radio.com/catalog/ht/0777.html
Kenwood TH-F6A: http://universal-radio.com/catalog/ht/0066.html
Icom IC-T90A:http://universal-radio.com/catalog/ht/0690.html
Alinco DJ-V5TH: http://universal-radio.com/catalog/ht/0472.html

Also Icom just came out with the IC-91A and IC-91AD (does digital also): http://universal-radio.com/catalog/ht/0091.html
