There's a system setup by the concert organizers under temporary license WSCP814, a MOTOTRBO multichannel system. I'm not close enough to GS to monitor it I've heard it's pretty active.

Hearing the stuff on the patch channels has been… interesting.

So many "crotch concealment" calls. The event organizer system was interesting to hear and I noted ten TGs but have no idea what they represent. One really needs to be within two miles of the event to stand a chance hearing anything. The frequencies being used are the same as last year but under a newly-granted temporary license. I haven't submitted it to RRDB because it is temporary license but will reach out to an admin to be sure.

Since it is a STA and not an actual license used year around, even though it was repeated from last festival, I would think a wiki page for the festival may be more appropriate. But then that is only my opinion since I'm not a DB Admin.

Yeah if I never hear the phrase "crotch concealment" ever again, I'll be good. There's been a lot of concealment calls and it sounds like they're using multiple methods to scope people out including drones. Shows how old and out of touch I am, I had no idea kids sneaking drugs and booze into a festival would be quite this prevalent. Or maybe it's always been like this and my generation was just better at hiding their goods, ha ha. I do hope the PD or the city publishes stats on arrests and stuff after it's over.

I'm assuming the drugs are all getting tossed and these kids aren't all being arrested since there hasn't been a whole lot of custody calls that I've noticed. Of course with BCSO and GSPD being encrypted we'll never know the "other half" of what's really going on.

I've been noticing some Spanish Fort and Silverhill Radio IDs peppered in with the GS and BCSO radio IDs. I don't know if this is an error in my logging or if they are really pulling people from across the county. There have also been occasional ones with no ID.

This isn't happening only there or just by kids, I have working knowledge that this was the main reason many outdoor concert facilities (owned and managed by one certain Int'l company) have stopped allowing lawn chairs into the venues. The amount of contraband smuggled into shows just grew to such a point it was easier to stop lawn chairs (among other restrictions and steps) than to waste time and efforts with searches.

They are using drones and fixed cameras monitored from a tactical operations center with potential offenders called out to interdiction teams just inside the gates. And, since most of the concert-goers are wearing little more than bikinis, concealment options are somewhat limited. I'm pretty sure Gulf Shores PD will publish the arrest data in a week or so.

GSPD contracted with Baldwin Co SO and made off-duty assignments available to other departments in the county.

"Prohibited operation of an unmanned aircraft system" - ha ha I heard that one. Unless it was flying directly overhead I'm surprised they had the authority to bring a drone down. But then they were also chasing people off the dunes who were trying to watch from outside the walls, so... Who knows.
