Begging for assistance from my fellow scanner compadres out there. I am using ARC250 to program a buddy's scanner for him. I am having all kinds of problems with Hanover's EDACS system, and thought that someone might be able to give me a heads-up on what little thing that I might have done wrong (since it works some of the time).

Anyway, I have the channels programmed in the correct order (as per this site), EDACS Wide, and have all of the public safety TG's entered. When I scan the system, it will stop on freq's 7 & 8 and pick up radio traffic. It WILL occaisionally stop on one of the TG's, but will miss parts of the radio traffic.

Any ideas? I'm not having this issue with my 780 or 796, only on my friend's radio. I have a feeling that it's something small that I'm missing, but can NOT figure out what it is! :x

Doh!

Ooops, I KNEW that it was something simple. I discovered that two of the EDACS frequencies did not get entered as such, which was preventing the tracking feature to work.

Hanover EDACS

Sometimes when I am monitoring an incident using my 245XLT, I get a loud claxton type noise when someone keys up and it momentarily covers the voice transmission. any idea what that might be?

its your scanner freezing up on the keyed up channel that the unit keyed up on accidentally twice real fast. Hit scan and you should hear the transmission.

Would you either post or email me the ARC250 file with the Hanover stuff in it? I never did get it straight on my scanner...
